Job Overview

Hospice Aide: Hospice of Dubuque, the community’s nonprofit hospice, seeks a CNA to join our care team.

The Hospice Aide works as part of the hospice interdisciplinary team. This individual must be able to perform personal cares according to each patient’s plan of care. Care is provided to hospice patients residing in personal residences and facilities throughout the tri-state region. Hospice of Dubuque offers a competitive wage and benefits package.

The Hospice Aide must:

• have reliable transportation and be able to drive in all types of weather,
• visit patients in a variety of locations and provide care to bedbound patients in low beds,
• load and unload durable medical equipment weighing up to 45 pounds,
• possess compassion, sensitivity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills,
• work with an electronic medical record system,
• have completed a certified nurse aide training and competency evaluation program, and be listed in good standing on the state nurse aide registry.
• demonstrate an aptitude for caring for this patient population—experience is preferred.
