Brief History

A&G Electric had its beginning in 1983 with its original two owners / employees — Rick Ackley and Wayne Gartner — operating out of the back of Linden’ Propeller Shop as a small firm serving Dubuque, Iowa.

From there, A&G Electric made a move to 595 Huff Street and continued growing steadily over the years, continuously expanding our services to Dubuque and the surrounding Tri-State communities.

In 2015, A&G Electric moved to our present location at 490 East 14th Street — right next to Linden’ Propeller Shop.

Current Information

Headquartered in downtown Dubuque, A&G Electric provides service to the Dubuqueland & surrounding Tri-State area communities of Illinois & Wisconsin.

Today, under ownership & leadership of Barney Grobstick, A&G Electric continues to serve the Dubuqueland area and the surrounding Tri-State communities with an array of services.

As of 2020, A&G Electric employs 44+ staff members.

ΓÇïThe people who make up the congregation of Grace Church come from various backgrounds. Though some have lived in Galena most of their lives, most have moved here from other places. Many first established vacation homes in the Galena Territory that became their permanent homes in retirement. Most members have also come from other denominations, both Roman Catholic and Protestant. They have found the Episcopal Church’s “big tent” to be a place of acceptance where we strive to follow the way of Jesus Christ together. It is a place where questions are not only tolerated but welcomed. At the same time, the center of our worship and practice is the Book of Common Prayer, rooted in Christian scripture and tradition, both ancient and responsive to this time and place.
