Requirements
- Associate’s degree in an information system related field required.
- One to two years’ experience with systems or applications similar to those used at Southwest Health (e.g. Microsoft Windows OS, Windows Server OS, VMware, Active Directory, Exchange Server, basic Networking and IP Telephony).
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
Work Hours
We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) IT Specialist to work Monday- Friday between 7:00am and 5:00pm, with participation in an on-call rotation.
Job Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting workstations, printers, network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and other electronic devices. They also install and support applications used on Southwest Health (SH) workstations and servers. Additionally, the IT Specialist helps ensure the security and reliability of SH’s network, voice, and data systems, and provides user training to optimize the use of available technology resources.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

- Installs and maintains software on servers, workstations, printers and other electronic equipment.
- Diagnoses and resolves problems with user access and use of information system resources.
- Maintains and follows backup procedures to minimize the risk of loss of data and information.
- Identifies and resolves problems affecting network performance.
- Installs and maintains servers, workstations, printers, network equipment, telecommunication equipment and other electronic equipment.
- Identifies and resolves Operating System and application problems, using vendor support as needed.
- Maintains and supports the Organization’s intranet site
- Evaluate new hardware and software to meet the organizations changing requirements.
- Adheres to Southwest Health’s value-based behavior standards.
- Understands and adheres to Southwest Health compliance and HIPAA standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
