Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant, Phlebotomy, or Patient Care Technician program preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital, laboratory, or clinical setting preferred.
- Experience with specimen collection, waived testing, and electronic order entry (LIS/EHR) strongly preferred.
- Previous experience assisting in Radiology or the Emergency Department desirable.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Work Hours
We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Medical Laboratory/Radiology/Emergency Department Assistant to work Monday-Friday from 3:00pm - 11:30pm.
Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory/ Radiology / Emergency Department Assistant is a cross-trained healthcare professional responsible for providing high-quality technical and clinical support throughout the hospital. The primary focus of this role is on laboratory functions — including specimen collection, processing, and CLIA-waived testing — for patients in all areas of the hospital, including the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient services.
In addition, this position provides secondary support to the Emergency and Radiology Departments, assisting with patient registration, vital signs, transportation, and preparation for diagnostic imaging procedures. This role ensures efficient coordination between departments and contributes to safe, timely, and patient-centered care.
