Requirements

- Minimum of six months to one-year prior experience in housekeeping.
- Must be knowledgeable of established cleaning practices, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Work Hours
We are seeking a full-time (40hr/ week) Housekeeping Supervisor to work Monday- Friday.
Job Summary
Assists in implementing programs necessary to provide a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for the facility customers under the direction of the Facility Operations Manager.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Evaluates and selects cleaning materials and supplies and maintains cleaning supply inventory and place orders to replenish.
- Adjusts care, staff instruction and patient interaction appropriate to the needs of the patient.
- Recognizes potential safety hazards and proactively takes necessary steps to eliminate the hazard or reports the hazard to upper management.
- Provides support for laundry services including tracking laundry inventory and ordering.
- Monitors related outside services/contractors, i.e., Laundry, infectious waste, etc.
- Reviews department policies and procedures for needed changes.
- Maintains communication and coordinates services and activities with other departments.
- Operates various types of cleaning equipment, i.e., buffers, wringers, scrubbers, extractors, vacuums, and burnishers.
- Attends appropriate meetings and training sessions.
- Assists staff members when need arises to cover open shifts.
- Stocks essential supplies (linens, paper products, etc.) to departments throughout the facility as required.
- Performs daily cleaning procedures including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing windows, etc. throughout the facility.
- Collects and transports materials such as dirty linen and garbage throughout the facility to appropriate areas.
- Adheres to Southwest Health’s value-based behavior standards.
- Understands and adheres to Southwest Health compliance and HIPAA standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
