Job Overview

Hospice of Dubuque, your hometown hospice, seeks a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to join our Palliative Care program. Come and be part of delivering patient-centered care that truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.

** 4 day/week x 2 weeks then 5 day/week x 1week rotation schedule.**

**No nights, weekends, or holidays**

 

The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner:

  • Evaluates patients referred to Hospice of Dubuque’s Palliative Care Consulting service.
  • Makes assessment visits to patients in their place of residence or while located in a contracted facility.
  • Interprets and integrates clinical data to assess, prescribe or recommend appropriate comfort interventions for palliative care.
  • Is part of a week rotation for inpatient palliative care with a contracted facility.

 

The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner serves as a member of the Palliative Care Team, under the clinical supervision of the Hospice of Dubuque Medical Director or Hospice Physician. This employee serves as a liaison with referral sources and the medical community, thus must demonstrate decorum when engaging and communicating with other healthcare providers. The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner may be assigned to perform the duties of the Hospice Nurse Practitioner. The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner must maintain high standards of integrity and business ethics, and provide all patient care in accordance with current professional standards of practice and regulatory requirements.

 

Candidate must possess Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school offering an advanced degree for nurse practitioners (ARNP). Certification as an ARNP from appropriate organization, with unrestricted license to practice as an advanced nurse practitioner in Iowa. At least 2 years related nursing experience; hospice or palliative care experience preferred. Current DEA certificate without restriction. Competitive wage and benefits package.
