The College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Construction Management position, with a start date of August 2026. The Applied Engineering Technology Management Department offers three primary areas of study: Engineering Technology Management, Construction Management, and Technical and Engineering Education.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in construction management, ranging from introductory to capstone levels, incorporating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing content, and delivered through traditional and alternative instructional methods.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Construction Management or a closely related field by the start date.

  • At least two years of relevant construction industry experience.

  • College-level teaching experience. Teaching as a graduate instructor or teaching assistant in construction-related coursework is acceptable.

  • Ability to teach using technology, machines, and equipment in a hands-on laboratory environment, including mechanical or related technical systems.

  • Experience or knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is recognized for its excellent undergraduate programs. The programs provide students with the knowledge and experience needed to pursue a productive lifelong career in industry or to engage in further study at the graduate level. It consists of Electrical Engineering program, Computer Engineering program, and Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems. In Fall 2025, there were 102 full-time new freshman enrollments in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. As of Fall 2025, the department serves a total of 359 undergraduate students. The Bachelor of Science programs in the department align with the mission statement of the university by delivering a hands-on approach, where students learn by doing. The hands-on approach is evident in the curriculum, with the majority of coursework having a laboratory experience associated with them.

The department also offers courses to remote students through the UW-Platteville Engineering Partnerships (PEP) program. Most of the courses in ECE department are provided through distance modality for students enrolled in the PEP program.

About the Department

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is recognized for its excellent undergraduate programs. The programs provide students with the knowledge and experience needed to pursue a productive lifelong career in industry or to engage in further study at the graduate level. It consists of Electrical Engineering program, Computer Engineering program, and Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems. In Fall 2025, there were 102 full-time new freshman enrollments in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. As of Fall 2025, the department serves a total of 359 undergraduate students. The Bachelor of Science programs in the department align with the mission statement of the university by delivering a hands-on approach, where students learn by doing. The hands-on approach is evident in the curriculum, with the majority of coursework having a laboratory experience associated with them. The department also offers courses to remote students through the UW-Platteville Engineering Partnerships (PEP) program. Most of the courses in ECE department are provided through distance modality for students enrolled in the PEP program.

The ECE department currently has eight tenured faculty, a tenure track faculty, and one instructional academic staff. It serves approximately 324 majors, and graduates approximately 58 students per year.

The Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) program housed within the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MEIE) department has a rich history, established in 1976 and continuously accredited by ABET since its inception. They support students with integrating into the campus community and promoting their independence while ensuring equal access to the institution’s programs, services, and activities. Additionally, they develop programs and initiatives aimed at increasing campus awareness and responsiveness to the needs of students with disabilities.

The specialist facilitates the provision of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities to ensure equitable access to the institution’s programs, services, and activities. They recommend and support the implementation of accommodations to ensure access to the physical, educational, and social aspects of campus life in alignment with institutional policy.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a wage of $46,200 – $47,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake assessments, review documentation, determine eligibility for disability services, and facilitate the interactive process in collaboration with populations with disabilities, instructors, and staff to identify and implement reasonable accommodations.

  • Coordinate acquisition and distribution of books and materials in alternative formats.

  • Coordinate and monitor accommodations and related services, including assessing, recommending, and providing appropriate assistive technology and training students in its effective use.

  • Guide current and prospective students and their families through the DAC registration process, documentation requirements, and understanding their legal rights and responsibilities.

  • Serve as a consultant and resource to faculty, staff, and campus partners regarding disability access, accommodations, and inclusive practices.

  • Collaborate with clinical professionals as needed to evaluate access needs and allocate resources.

  • Assist in the development and support of programs and initiatives that promote awareness, sensitivity, advocacy, and competence in ensuring access for individuals with disabilities.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable disability laws, FERPA, university policies, and departmental guidelines while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional discretion.

  • Maintain accurate records and data in accordance with institutional standards.

  • Participate in required safety training and drills, perform additional duties as assigned, and maintain flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.

  • Two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or related populations at the post-secondary level.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Ability to maintain confidential records and collaborate with campus partners to support student success.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple accommodations, maintain accurate records, and coordinate effectively with students, faculty, and campus partners.
