Description

The Park Ranger performs law enforcement and maintenance within all of Dubuque County parks and wildlife areas. Ensures the safety of park visitors and preserves and protects the natural resources of Dubuque County.  This position requires the employee to reside on-site at Finley’s Landing Park.

Job Duties

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Ground Maintenance:
Mows, landscapes, tree care, repairs park fixtures, playground inspection/maintenance, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs.

Law Enforcement:
Enforces all local, state, and federal laws. Collects user fees in campgrounds, Heritage trail. River rescues, body recoveries. Resolves disturbances, takes various reports, assists other agencies with calls for service. Illegal dumping officers.

Equipment Operator:
Operates tractors, skid loaders, mowers, excavators, Utv’s, snowmobiles, boats, dump trucks, end loaders.

Prairie Management:
Manages prescribed fire, spraying, mowing, removal of woody vegetation, planting.

Vehicle Maintenance:
Repairs broken parts, oil changes, tire rotation, routine maintenance.

Structural Maintenance:
Oversees plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs. Builds new structures such as pavilions, covered picnic tables, and boat docks.

Timber Management:
Plants, prunes, sprays, invasive removal, crop tree release.

Snow plowing:
Plows snow off parking lots, applies salt when needed.

Wildlife Calls for Service:
Manages rescue nuisances, injured/sick animals.

Equipment Maintenance:
Repairs broken parts, oil changes, sharpens mower blades, routine maintenance.

Environmental Education:
Teaches Hunter safety classes, public relations answering questions, assists with environmental programs.

Volunteer Coordination:
Plans and coordinates events for volunteers, works with community service projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural science or environmental education related fields, or two year associate degree and two years’ work experience.

Description

Performs intermediate human support service and paraprofessional work to the residents of Sunnycrest Manor.

Work is performed under the general supervision of a charge nurse or professional staff.

  • Performs personal care of patients and provides routine services including making beds, giving baths and rubs, lifting and moving residents, and caring for personal effects.
  • Teaches or reinforces adult learning skills including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Assists patients with daily activities including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.
  • Performs rehabilitative therapy and activities of daily living.
  • Takes and records vital signs.

Maintenance Person III

Description

Performs difficult skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive and construction equipment; does related work as required.

Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Shop Supervisor.

Job Duties

  • Services equipment; Diagnoses mechanical problems, determines required repair of replacement of parts; Plans work procedures using charts and technical manuals;
  • Installs rings and bearings and effects proper adjustment;

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Description

Performs nursing care to the residents of Sunnycrest Manor in accordance with the Iowa Nurse Practice Act.

Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Nursing Department Management Staff.

Supervision is exercised over certified nursing assistants, restorative nursing assistants, nursing assistant transporters, ward clerks, certified medication aides, and program instructors.

Job Duties

  • Reviews prior shift records, reviews treatment and medication instructions.
  • Assigns and supervises the work of nursing assistants and others on an assigned shift involving the plan of care of residents; instructs subordinates on procedures and techniques for the routine care of residents.
  • Personally administers medications; giving injections, catherizations, inserts nasogastric tubes; changes dressings, checks blood pressure; and provides other nursing services as indicated.
  • Documents condition, development, and treatment in patient records.
  • Observes and evaluates patients’ condition and initiates action.
  • Accompanies physicians on rounds and gives information as requested.
  • Briefs relieving or supervisory staff on nursing shift developments.
  • Assists Registered Nurse in utilizing the nursing process which involves assessment, nursing diagnosis, the establishment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Description

The Administrative Assistant II performs work related to all activities in the election and voter registration process.

Job Duties

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Daily Duties:
Processes daily voter registrations through the Iowa Department of Transportation, cancels deceased voters, processes incoming/outgoing mail voter information, scans and links voter information to voter records, answers incoming phone calls.

Election Time Duties:
Balances all ballots, processes the mailing and receipt of absentee ballots, prepares ballots and envelopes needed for nursing home absentee teams, processes absentee voters at counter, makes phone calls or prepares and mails necessary correspondence to voters, assists in answering temporary election workers questions. Assists with satellite voting locations. Assists with the clean up after election. Processes voter updates that come from the Secretary of State’s Office at various times throughout the year.

Scanning and Linking:
Scans and links election tally books and oath of offices.

Election Precinct Cages:
Ensures all needed supplies go to election precincts.

Secretary of State Voter Updates:

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for medical-surgical patients

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies

  • Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire)

Certification/License:

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
  • Must posesses and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from hire date
