Position Summary
The Aluminum Die Cast Set Up Technician is responsible for preparing, setting up, and adjusting high-pressure aluminum die casting machines and tooling in support of daily production goals. This role requires hands-on mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast — paced manufacturing environment. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up aluminum die casting machinery per job orders and production schedules. 
  • Install, remove, and align dies, cores, shot tips, and other tooling components. 
  • Perform die changes safely and efficiently to minimize machine downtime. 
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and hoists to move dies and equipment as needed. 
  • Make process adjustments (temperature, pressure, cycle timing) to optimize part quality. 
  • Produce first-piece samples and coordinate approvals with Quality Control before full production runs. 
  • Perform routine quality checks and dimensional inspections throughout production. 
  • Clean and maintain machinery, dies, and work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards. 
  • Communicate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams regarding issues or improvements. 
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support high performance and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in die casting setup, foundry operations, or heavy manufacturing preferred. 
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment safely (cranes, forklifts). 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
