FOOD SERVER

BASIC FUNCTION

Servers are responsible for delivering exceptional service and creating a positive and enjoyable environment for guests across all Q Casino and Resort restaurants.  This role requires professionalism, product knowledge, attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-level hospitality in a fast-paced environment.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to:    Front of House Manager
  • Supervises:    N/A

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up dining room according to service standards.
  • Ensure all glassware, silverware and dishware are clean polished and properly placed.
  • Greet guests professionally and provide attentive, courteous and efficient service throughout the dining experience.
  • Accurately enter orders into the POS system. 
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and organized manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to service standards.
  • Monitor assigned section, anticipating guest’s needs and proactively offering assistance.
  • Clear tables, replenish beverages, and fulfill guests’ requests promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas before, during, and after service.
  • Coordinate with FOH Manager, supervisors and team members to ensure seamless service.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of food waste. 
  • Assist in post-shift breakdown and reset of dining room and service areas. 
     

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Formal education is not required.
  • Relevant food and beverage experience preferred.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Ensure food safety by dating and rotating food containers, safely storing perishables.
•    Prepares proper quantity and quality of food product in accordance with production plan.
•    Read and follow recipes for consistent food products.
•    Read and understand banquet event orders (BEO)
•    Maintain a high level of sanitation.
•    Clean equipment (degrease, change fryers, etc)
•    Other duties as assigned.

•    One-year technical school or 3-6 months experience

The successful candidate will possess at least one year of experience as well as a high school diploma or equivalent. Fully qualified applicants will be graduates of an accredited dental assisting program and current CPR and Basic Life Support accreditation. If you are already a dental assistant, you also must be a registered dental assistant in Iowa. Out of state dental assistants are encouraged to apply – you will need to possess your Iowa license prior to employment.

We will consider applicants who are not already a dental assistant for our Dental Assistant Training Program. In order to be considered, you must have experience in a dental office setting in roles such as scheduling, dental patient support, or similar administrative roles.

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining all buildings and grounds owned by Dubuque County.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Building and Grounds:

Maintains buildings and grounds, cleans, picks up trash.

Custodial:

Performs daily custodial tasks. Monitors/inventory cleaning supplies and maintenance items.

Electrical:

Hangs lights, replaces outlets and switches, new power to equipment.

Plumbing:

Fixes leaks, replaces when bad, installs new fixtures.

Carpentry:

Fixes drywall, paints, remodels, hangs fixtures.

HVAC Boilers Cooling Tower:

General maintenance, troubleshoots, fixes items, changes filters.

Labor:

Repairs desks, moves furniture, hangs shelves and pictures.

Snow Removal:

Cleans sidewalks and steps, applies salt.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency, and some maintenance experience.
