Kitchen Operator – Nights

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 Follow the order of the schedule and call for batches from the meat room, as required.

 Weigh all ingredients and record weight before batching.

 Record lot numbers and supplier for each ingredient used.

 Kitchen operator is a final check for Q.C and supervisor- must notify Q.C and supervisor of anything unusual; i.e. batch too thick, too thin, off-color, off odor.

 Follow formula guidelines, which are listed, on each batch sheet.

 Record batching information for each batch made on formula kitchen sheets. These include gravy weight, water level, water temp, tri-blender R.P.M.’s final batch weight, fill temps and additives.

 Clean and sanitize entire kitchen during can size changeovers or when notified by Supervisor.

 Follow rinse procedures for cleaning the emulsifier and tanks 1, 2, & 3.

 Regulate the dropping temperature, as required. Follow batch sheet guidelines or Supervisor instructions.

 Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Weekend Planner – Days

As part of the Extended Coverage Team, the ECT Planner plays an important role in supporting freight flow and service performance during non-standard business hours. This position assists with load planning and operational tasks to ensure uninterrupted service. The ECT Planner works closely with ECT Planner team members, Area Planners, and other operations staff to build planning skills, provide coverage support, and maintain network efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Plan and manage a workload of 150+ loads per week in alignment with shift priorities and operational targets

• Assist with load planning and execution across multiple regions based on operational needs

• Support planning activities by preparing and monitoring load information to ensure accurate scheduling and coverage

• Handle a smaller, less complex planning workload under the guidance of ECT Planner II, Area Planners, and leadership

• Partner with ECT Planner II team members for guidance and to learn best practices for real-time planning and issue resolution

• Monitor freight movements, service metrics, and driver schedules, escalating potential service issues for resolution

• Assist with assigning loads to drivers and make minor adjustments under supervision

• Coordinate with Driver Managers, Customer Service, and Area Planners to ensure smooth

 execution and communication during the shift

• Document shift activity, decisions, and unresolved issues to enable seamless transitions between shifts

• Provide backup planning coverage during peak times, absences, or coverage gaps as directed

• Actively develop knowledge of systems, freight planning processes, and operational best practices by working with ECT Planner II and Area Planners

Talent Requirements: 
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s in logistics or related field preferred
• 0–1 year of experience in transportation, logistics, or related field
• Familiarity with AS400, routing software, and Microsoft Office preferred
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
