Logs Coordinator

Hirschbach is currently adding an Electronic Logs Coordinator to our Safety team!

Electronic logbooks are how our drivers provide accurate records for vehicle operating data and driver activity. The transportation industry was regulated to transition to Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to ensure Hours of Service (HOS) data is logged correctly versus using a paper logbook. 

Hirschbach created a team of Electronic Logs Specialist to assist our team of drivers to provide guidance and assistance for any HOS needs. Our ideal candidate would have great customer service skills and a passion for helping others! 

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm

What you will do!

  • Make adjustments to drivers’ electronic logs/hours of service.
  • Work with drivers on the use of the Geotab device.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and other office employees.
  • Comply with legal regulations regarding hours of service.
  • Assist in training drivers on time management.
  • Assist in managing phone calls within a call queue.
  • Other duties involved with Safety Compliance, including; 
    • Coordinates and monitors numerous systems to ensure all employees are compliant with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
    • Coordinates and monitors to ensure compliance with federal drug and alcohol testing. 
    • Monitor to ensure current CDLs and physicals.

Learning Center Instructional Specialist

To fully support the mission of Northeast Iowa Community College. To provide instruction and academic support in a learner-centered environment and to promote student success and persistence. To carry out assigned responsibilities to ensure academic programs are sustainable and aligned with accreditation standards.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level preferred. Education, direct applicable experience, or a combination of both in the content area(s) of Math, Science, Nursing, Writing, Reading, and/or Study Skills required. Knowledge and experience with Northeast Iowa Community College or other community college system preferred. The successful candidate will possess the ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students through their commitment and passion for excellence in teaching and student achievement.

1. Provide academic instruction and coaching within an assigned math content area for students seeking support in the Learning Center to foster student learning and improve student retention.
2. Collaborate with credit and non-credit instructors, academic and student support services departments and staff, and others to help ensure students are provided with individualized support and the resources they need for success.
3. Respond to student requests using active and diverse instructional strategies to facilitate student learning and support individual learning styles.
4. Assist students in developing and applying learning and study skills.
5. Create and deliver instructional support utilized in an individual, group, or workshop environment in a face-to-face and/or online format.
6. Assist learners in achieving individualized goals including high school equivalency, adult literacy, English-language support, college credit and/or non-credit coursework.
7. Establish and maintain mentoring relationships with learners to help overcome barriers to their success.
8. Demonstrate and practice cultural sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse student population and college environment.
9. Stay current with course material or course expectations in the specific subject area, and utilize technology, web-based resources and/or online tutoring platforms when assisting students and performing job duties.
10. Assist students with use of college learning management systems and other web or technology resources when requested.
11. Maintain accurate and timely records.
12. Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the mission of NICC.
13. Support the Learning Center mission and objectives while participating in the development and assessment of student learning outcomes.
14. Participate in professional development activities, training and meetings to advance skills, knowledge and abilities as they relate to the position.
15. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues to develop successful partnerships and foster a respectful and productive work environment.
16. Participate in activities to promote enrollment and retention of students.
17. Develop and deliver services to promote a learner-centered environment and refer students to appropriate college resources for additional support when needed.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Day Shift 

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, circuitry, and wiring
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions in production equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical components and control systems
  • Repair or replace motors, sensors, relays, breakers, and control panels
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs performed
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong electrical focus 
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuitry, wiring, and control systems

Position Summary
A local employer is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Blending Operator to join their production team. This role is responsible for accurately blending ingredients according to production formulas, operating blending and processing equipment, and ensuring all quality and safety standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Accurately measure, weigh, and blend ingredients according to batch formulas and production schedules
  • Operate blending, mixing, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Load raw materials into blending equipment and monitor production processes
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company specifications
  • Complete production paperwork, batch records, and inventory documentation accurately
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with GMP and food safety standards
  • Follow all OSHA, safety, and company policies and procedures
  • Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, sanitation, and basic troubleshooting
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality personnel, and production team members
  • Support other production and warehouse functions as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, blending, machine operation, or production experience preferred

  • Forklift experience is a plus
