Planner – Dedicated

As a Planner with Hirschbach your expectation is to ensure freight ships in accordance with customer and carrier specifications while keeping Hirschbach operator interests in mind. The Planner successfully matches trucks and freight ensuring a freight balance.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans freight and equipment in assigned regions and/or account for maximum utilization and profitability.
  • Pre-plans freight that allows for on time pick-up and delivery.
  • Check-calling, relaying, and re-powering all assigned driver freight to customer and carrier agreed specifications.
  • Manages trailer pool.
  • Collaborates with Driver Managers to coordinate Hirschbach operators’ scheduled home time, down time, current status, and predicted time available.
  • Builds and maintains professional and positive relationships with Hirschbach operators, operations team members, and customers.
  • Communicates any PTA and routing issues that may lead to service issues.
  • Confirms T-Called loads are planned to deliver on-time.
  • Creates plans of action (POA) to increase lane profitability and service percentages. Updates POAs with concerns/delays.
  • Attends meetings related to customers and occasionally travels to visit customer sites and terminal locations.
  • Other duties as assigned including proactively assisting others in achieving the organization’s objectives.
  • Trains and develops Planner Is and Planner IIs.
  •  Supervises and leads direct reports.
  • Supports the planning and oversight of 500+ loads per week
  •  Consistently achieves low deadhead miles to maximize overall profitability

Extended Coverage – Nights

The Extended Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of drivers within the extended operations department, ensuring that deliveries and transportation activities run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing driver performance, ensuring safety compliance, and providing support for drivers in the field while collaborating with other departments to meet operational goals.

Schedule Options: 

  • Monday – Thursday; 6pm – 6am

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring that drivers are on schedule and meeting performance standards
  • Monitor driver performance, including adherence to safety regulations, delivery times, and customer service standards
  • Ensure all drivers comply with company policies, safety standards, and federal/state regulations
  • Assist with route planning and scheduling to optimize driver performance and minimize delays
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to drivers, helping them navigate challenges and improve their efficiency
  • Assist in resolving any driver-related issues, including accidents, delays, or equipment malfunctions
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, customer satisfaction, and fuel efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of driver performance, including safety reports, driving logs, and maintenance schedules
  • Ensure proper maintenance and safety checks are completed on vehicles used by drivers
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any operational bottlenecks

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and driver management

Manager – Dedicated Operations

The Manager- Dedicated Operations plays a critical leadership role overseeing a Dedicated team at Hirschbach! This position is responsible for training and developing new and existing team members, providing ongoing support, and stepping in as needed to maintain operational continuity. 

Serving as a key point of contact for both customers and drivers, the Manager – Dedicated Operations handles escalations, resolves inquiries, and ensures a high level of service across assigned accounts and geographic regions. This role leads customer KPI reporting meetings, manages billing functions, and reviews customer billing and reporting for accuracy. The Manager – Dedicated Operations regularly generates operational KPIs, provides customer report-outs, and strives to achieve low deadhead miles to maximize profitability.

Duties include: 

  • Supervise and leads direct reports, including Driver Leaders, Account Managers, Planners, and Customer Service Representative.

  • Trains and develops new Operations team members and provides ongoing training to current teams.

Conservation Grounds Maintenance

Description
The Grounds Maintenance positions under the general supervision of the Executive Director, will assist in the maintenance and development of all parks, preserves, and management areas under the jurisdiction of the Dubuque County Conservation Board. This is a temporary, part-time position, with varied hours up to a maximum of 24 hours per week.

Job Duties

  • Performs routine maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment; primarily mowing, refuse and debris removal.
  • Assists in the construction, installation, removal and repair of facilities.
  • Operates various hand and power tools, vehicles, tractors and mowing equipment.

Phlebotomist

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Additional technical training in Phlebotomy per CLSI guidelines preferred
  • Certificate of Phlebotomy preferred. Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems preferred
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and use of the internet preferred

Work Hours

We are seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) phebotomist to work 3pm-11:30pm, includes an every fifth weekend rotation and 1-2 holidays per year.

Job Summary

Performs phlebotomy, i.e., venipuncture and capillary punctures, to procure specimens for laboratory analysis on patients of all ages from newborn through geriatric. Performs phlebotomy and transports specimens from patients/residents at area nursing homes to Southwest Health. Performs POCT (Point of Care Testing) at Platteville Clinic. Performs urine toxicology and breath alcohol collections according to Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Collects specimens for DNA paternity testing. Performs clerical duties such as order entry, faxing, and supply handling and distribution.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Performs venipuncture and capillary collections (aka phlebotomy) using good technical skills according to written procedures and established safety practices.
  2. Utilizes Laboratory Information System to order patient tests, enter diagnosis, sign orders, receive specimens, fax results, and prepare packing lists.
  3. Performs phlebotomy on patients of all ages from newborn through geriatric and on patients in a variety of settings, including hospital inpatients and outpatients, nursing home residents, pediatric and newborn patients, patients in the emergency room, including trauma patients, and clinic patients. Transports these specimens as needed.
  4. Per DOT regulations, collects DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screen specimens and performs breath alcohol testing. Processes paper work for DOT and Non-DOT drug screen collections and breath alcohol testing, including faxing MRO copies and mailing employer copies.
  5. Performs waived (POC) patient testing as instructed and educated. Maintains competency for those tests.
  6. Performs paternity collections as instructed and trained.
  7. Maintains adequate drug screen supplies such as collection containers and Chain of Custody forms.
  8. Processes specimens by centrifugation and proper distribution to work areas such as hematology, chemistry or microbiology.
  9. Provides clerical support for Director of Laboratory utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel to produce reports, letters, policies and procedures and assists with special projects.
  10. Ensures that all blood-drawing trays are kept stocked with appropriate blood drawing supplies.
  11. Stocks laboratory areas with vendor and storeroom supplies. Orders supplies from storeroom.
  12. Performs clerical functions of test order entry, specimen login, scanning of reports, filing reports, faxing results, scheduling, and preparing specimens for sending to reference laboratory.
  13. Performs basic housekeeping duties, including cleaning clerical and patient areas and organizing clerical supplies.
  14. Maintains good telephone skills by promptly and courteously answering the phone, assisting the caller or referring calls to appropriate technicians or technologists when indicated.
  15. Attends mandatory meetings and in-services.
  16. Adheres to Southwest Health’s value-based behavior standards.
  17. Understands and adheres to Southwest Health compliance and HIPAA standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

CNC Machinist

We are seeking to hire a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conversational programming, setting up, and operating Hurco CNC machines to produce precision components for plastic injection and die-cast tooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines to produce mold bases, core/cavity inserts, and components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
