GENERAL SUMMARY: Assist in planning, directing, or coordinating the operations of City of Dubuque golf and clubhouse. Duties and responsibilities include assisting in formulating policies, and managing daily operations. Under supervision of the PGA Head Professional, assist in managing the golf and club house operations; manage the golf and club house operations in the absence of the PGA Head Professional; and perform related work as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The employee in this class is responsible for assisting the PGA Head Professional in all aspects of the golf and club house operation including concessions, inventory control, club repair, organizing golf leagues, outings, tournaments and junior golf, player development, merchandising, golf instruction and golf course management of play. Work includes supervising and assigning the work of seasonal employees. Assignments and general directions are received from the PGA Head Professional. Work is reviewed and evaluated by the PGA Head Professional through operating records, fiscal records, inspection of the facilities and effectiveness of services provided.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or its equivalent supplemented by coursework in community recreation, park and recreation administration, business administration, exercise management, sports administration of related field;
- PGA Apprentice, PGM student or desire to purpose PGA membership;
- Or the equivalent education and experience.
- Possession of a Current Iowa Class C – Minor’s Restricted Work License, Iowa Class C – Special Minor’s Restricted License, or equivalent or higher state-issued driving license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Management, Sports Administration or related field.
- 2 years or more work experience in a public or private golf course.

ENVIROMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a high school diploma.
- Minimum of one-year related experience.
- Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with insurance coverage consistent with City requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to speak dual or multiple languages.
- College level coursework from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Social Work, Cross Cultural Studies, Psychology, or related field.

Position Summary
- GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of Planning Services staff, perform a variety of technical, administrative and basic professional City planning assignments related to land use, development, City planning and historic preservation; and perform other duties as assigned. Assignments are received both verbally and in writing. Work is performed according to general or specific instructions from a supervisor who inspects work while in progress and upon completion.

Job Duties
- JOB DUTIES:
- Project specific work: preparing for and assisting with major projects, performing research and working with Planning staff and project partners.
- Perform administrative, technical and research tasks related to development services, city planning and historic preservation activities.
- Conduct research on development, planning and historic preservation issues and cases.
- Scan documents.
- Compile reports.
- Organize and distribute agenda packets for board, commission and committee meetings.
- Perform data collection, analysis and tabulation.
- Research potential impacts to historic properties.
- Perform GIS mapping functions.
- Participate in field inspections to prepare staff reports or conduct research.
- Responds to questions and service requests.
- Engage citizens, partners and community members.
