As a Teacher at MercyOne, you will work with children ranging in age from 6 weeks 9 years.  Programs are designed around the developmental needs of children.   

Schedule:

  • Full-Time Days; Primarily looking for candidates to work hours between 10:00am – 6:30pm, or 11:00am – 7:30pm. Our Child Development Center is open Monday through Friday 5:45am – 7:30pm. No weekends or holidays!

General Requirements:

  • Demonstrates specific customer focused behaviors relating to attitude, privacy/confidentiality, communication skills, and professional behavior.

  • Prepares a creative well-balanced curriculum that includes a wide range of developmentally appropriate experiences for the children. Promotes self-help skills, social skills, and good hygiene habits in children.

  • Recognizes and attempts to meet the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs of the children. Treats all children with respect.

  • Maintains the health, safety, and cleanliness of the Center’s indoor and outdoor environment regarding the children’s health and safety.

  • Communicates with team members, parents, children, students, volunteers and the community to coordinate the activities of aides and provide appropriate information to parents and team members.

  • Demonstrates the willingness to discuss and work out problems with parents and peers as they arise.

Education:

  • Two year or four-year degree in Early Childhood Education or elementary experience desired.

  • Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.

  • Experience desired, but not required.

Maintenance Person III

Description

Performs difficult skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive and construction equipment; does related work as required.

Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Shop Supervisor.

Job Duties:
  • Services equipment; Diagnoses mechanical problems, determines required repair of replacement of parts; Plans work procedures using charts and technical manuals;
  • Installs rings and bearings and effects proper adjustment;
  • Overhauls and repairs carburetors and clutches;
  • Performs repairs and replacements on diesel driven equipment;
  • Repairs and overhauls engines, brakes, ignition and fuel systems, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, front and rear axle assemblies;
  • Tunes motors using standard testing equipment;
  • Takes down, repairs and reassembles air compressors, pumps and related equipment;
  • Lays out and fabricates parts; Repairs damaged parts;
  • Operates air arc, plasma cutter, mig and arc welders;
  • Does electrical and hydraulic work on equipment, troubleshoots hydraulic and electrical problems, repairs or replaces defective parts, repairing and adjusting lights, and repairing generators and starters;
  • Performs custodial duties in shop area;
  • Operates service truck, performs field repairs as required;
  • Operates construction equipment when assigned;
  • Operates snow removal equipment, spreads salt and sand;
  • Performs other road, bridge and drainage work as assigned;
  • Operates lowboy; Performs routine welding repair and maintenance;
  • Assist in towing and recovery;
  • Performs related tasks as required;
  • Attends schools of instruction and meetings as required.
Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in repairing automotive and power-driven equipment.  Must be authorized to work in the United States. Dubuque County does not sponsor work visas or provide immigration sponsorship.

Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and maintain throughout duration of employment.

Must pass the prescribed pre-employment physical, DOT drug test and criminal background check.

Thorough knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in the repair of passenger cars, trucks, construction and maintenance equipment including auto and truck diagnostic scanners; thorough knowledge and skill in the use and operation of shop tools and machinery; ability to diagnose defects in the drive trains, chassis and other components of automotive equipment; ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems; ability to interpret work from sketches, diagrams and installation and repair charts; ability to understand and follow instructions in both oral and written form.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:

Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds; ability to climb steps, ability to squat, stoop; ability to be on feet for a minimum of one hour; ability to sit in same position for extended period of time; ability to reach above head; ability to withstand extremes of temperature, all with reasonable accommodation

Position Summary:

University Counseling Services at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invite applications for a Counselor. A counselor provides professional mental health counseling and consultation services for the campus community, incorporates a brief therapeutic model to address the emotional and behavioral needs of students, creates developmental programming to increase healthy lifestyle and coping behaviors across campus, and provides strategic direction and advocacy for university mental health policy and initiatives.
