DIESEL TECHNICIAN

WAGE: $25-$32/HOUR
LOCATION: DYERSVILLE IA AREA

Job Summary: Work in a collaborative team-oriented environment to provide the highest quality of maintenance and mechanical service to all APC heavy equipment. The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform oil changes and services on small equipment, vehicles, and large equipment such as: gantry cranes, ready-mix and semi-trucks.   
  2. Document all maintenance requests and inspections in an online service app. 
  3. Utilize the APC maintenance mobile app to perform daily tasks and properly document and submit work orders
  4. Perform monthly inspections on APC equipment. 
  5. Place purchase orders (PO’s) for maintenance inventory and additional needed parts. 
  6. Maintain OSHA safety procedures at all times when working around facilities and equipment. 
  7. Will be occasionally asked to complete additional maintenance tasks and repairs when needed.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  1. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms. 
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed in a timely manner.
  4. Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
  5. Excellent communication skills and self-motivated.
  6. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  7. Must provide own set of general mechanic tools (specialty tools will be provided by the company).

Education and Experience Qualifications: 

  1. High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years of technical diesel mechanic training or equivalent experience.
  2. Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  3. Ability to operate all trucks and light, medium and heavy equipment and tools: Hand tools, automotive lifts and other hydraulic equipment, all city owned equipment and vehicles (for purposes of their repair and maintenance).
  4. CDL preferred, but not required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and Develop ETL Pipelines: Build and manage scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to integrate and process marketing data. Employ a variety of languages and tools (e.g. Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), scripting languages), to marry systems together.

You’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Some experience in data engineering
  • Preferred experience includes experience working with large-scale data warehouse technologies and cloud platforms, data modeling, data architecture, or data pipelines. 
  • Experience in SQL, Python, and data pipeline tools.
  • Experience working with an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tool.
  • Strong understanding of data validation, testing, and ensuring high data quality in complex workflow.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address data-related challenge.

Direct Care Responsibilities:

  • Seen as a thought leader for UX best practices
  • Self-driven individual with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment. 
  • Experience designing across digital applications from web to mobile.

The pay range for this position is between $140,000-$190,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
