Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit.
  • Triage and prioritize phone calls based on standards of care and best practice. Send telephone encounters to the primary care/on-call clinician.
  • Provide nursing care by using the nursing process and nursing theory in assessing patient’s general condition and in making clinical decisions.
  • Monitor drug therapy and identify drug-related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions; take appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems.
  • Administer various therapies such as intravenous antibiotics and iron replacement therapy via a patient vein or peripherally inserted central catheters.
  • Accurately administer medications orally, IM, sub-q and IV.
  • Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed.
  • Communicate patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Triage phone calls and nurse visits for the assigned department. Nurse visits include, but not limited to immunization and therapeutic injections.

Qualifications

  • Valid and current RN licensure in the state of Iowa
    • Registered Nurse (RN) – Iowa Board of Nursing
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred

Responsibilities

Risk Management Program

  • Identify and implement industry best practices related to managing clinical risk.
  • Oversees investigations or incidents that could lead to professional/general liability claims.
  • Identifies occurrences that are potentially compensable events and reports to system law office and third-party insurers.
  • Facilitates support of professional liability litigation including discovery responses, and trial preparation in conjunction with legal department.

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support compliance with Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation (CoPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other regulatory agencies.
  • Works closely with Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, Patient Care Directors/Managers, UnityPoint Health Legal Team to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards of professional organizations such as DNV, OSHA, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), etc.
  • Manages regulatory agency survey process, post survey action plans and reporting to the appropriate regulatory agency, hospital leadership, and hospital committees.
  • Individually provides or works with others to provide the identified educational opportunities related to accreditation and regulatory standards. This may include education to leadership and department staff.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Related Field or Risk Management

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of clinical leadership experience in process improvement.

 Works on packaging lines for bulk, bag, and/or pillow pack film to guide products through equipment, into the appropriate packaging materials and palletizing. Additional forklift duties as well.  Technicians are rotated along many duties along the packaging line. 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring bulk packaging equipment to ensure proper filling and weights are being maintained for tote boxes and super sacks. 
  • Filling poly bags or paper bags to appropriate weights, ensuring a proper seal is achieved, and stacking onto a pallet. 
  • Working on pillow packaging line by transferring cereal bags from conveyor belt into the corresponding case used for packaging, making sure the proper number of bags are in the case. 
  • Make sure that no rejected or lightweight cereal bags are packed. Inspect that the correct code date is being used on the bag is correct and all bags have a good seal. 
  • Ensure that every cereal bag is properly patted down and properly placed in its case. Filling boxes into case erector when running low. 
  • Must be able to write the qty down on production paperwork and place the label on the finished pallet. 
  • Be able to add tape to tape machine. 
  • Bring in pallets and inspect them to ensure quality is what we want. 
  • Keep all work areas neat and organized and sweep areas to keep them clean. 
  • Operate forklift and palllets of material
  • Performs other duties assigned by Operator or lead personnel. 

 Qualifications include:
  • Identify correct code dates, identify bad boxes and improperly seal cereal bags. 
  • Use a pallet jack to move heavy pallets throughout the area. 
  • Experience operating forklift
  • Stand for the entire shift excluding breaks and lunch. 
  • Communicate effectively with other co-workers. 
  • Work weekend and overtime if necessary

Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality output through proper equipment operation, adherence to specifications, and consistent inspection of finished products.   • Operate and maintain paint line equipment, including spray guns, conveyors, booths, and dryers
  • Prepare parts for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking, and pretreatment as required)
