PRIMARY PURPOSE: To supervise the operations of multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for disability claims for clients; to monitor colleagues' workload, provide training, and monitor individual claim activities; to provide technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication; and to maintain a diary on claims within the teams including frequent diaries on complex or high exposure claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises multiple teams of examiners and/or several technical operations colleagues for a wide span of control; may delegate some duties to others within the unit.
  • Identifies and advises management of trends, problems, and issues as well as recommended course of action; informs management of new procedures and ideas for continuous process improvement; and coordinates with management projects for the office.
  • Provides technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication.
  • Compiles, reviews, and analyzes management reports and takes appropriate action.
  • Performs quality review on claims in compliance with audit requirements, service contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Acts as second level of appeal for client and claimant issues regarding claim specific, procedural or special requests; implements final disposition of the appeal.
  • Reviews reserve amounts on high cost claims and claims over the authority of the individual examiner.
  • Monitors third party claims; maintains periodical review of litigated claims, serious vocational rehabilitation claims, questionable claims and sensitive claims as determined by client.
  • Maintains contact with the client on claims and promotes a professional client relationship; makes recommendations to client as suggested by the claim status; and provides written resumes of specific claims as requested by client.
  • Assures that direct reports are properly licensed in the jurisdictions serviced.
  • Ensures claims files are coded correctly and adequate documentation is made by claims examiners.

As a Unit Secretary at MercyOne, you will perform clerical and receptionist duties under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Director. The Unit Secretary transcribes physician orders; performs order entry on the computer; schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients; assembles admission and discharge charts and maintains patient medical records; completes documentation for billing, answers telephone calls, provides routine approved information via telephone and in person and relays other calls and messages to appropriate staff.  The Unit Secretary demonstrates professional behavior consistent with the Mission of MercyOne, the Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures. 

Schedule:

  • Perform clerical duties including assembling charts, and compiling reports and records.

Patient Access Coordinator

The successful candidate works in collaboration with various departments within the clinic to ensure customer satisfaction by improving patient experience and increasing patient education. This position will be positioned in our Medical department. The Patient Access Coordinator will serve as a liaison for new patients, as well as serve as a mentor and insurance expert for the Patient Support Team. You’d meet with new patients (in person, via phone, or via video conference) to get them registered by filling out necessary paperwork, verifying insurance, and informing them of the Sliding Fee Discount Program and what is needed to apply to ensure seamless check-in at time of appointment.

You will verify insurance benefits via Real Time Eligibility (RTE) and phone/fax/online portals and attach coverages in the EHR (Electronic Health Record), explain patients’ insurance coverage and benefits, inform patients of costs for services, and assist patients with applying for Iowa Medicaid. You will need to answer any insurance questions for our team – you will be the insurance guru for the patient support team. You will also manage the Benefits Collection Manager module in the EHR, so Epic experience is highly desired.

You must at least have a high school diploma or GED. You must have at least six months’ experience in a position with patient registration as well as at least six months’ experience with health care billing, health care insurance, or similar roles. Medical Associates Clinic, located in Dubuque, Iowa, is seeking an NP or PA to join our well-established, thriving multidisciplinary practice in the Cardiothoracic and Cardiology department.  This position will be shared between both departments with flexibility needed!

Role:

  • Our advanced practice practitioners examine cardiac patients, order tests, make assessments, provide education, prescribe medications, and monitor the conditions of the heart in both the clinic and inpatient setting.
  • As part of a multispecialty clinic, we utilize a shared EHR system across the organization that allows for continuity of care among our primary care and specialty departments.  It also allows for fast and easy communication with our providers and staff across our many departments.

Work Schedule: Full-time (salaried) with 85% patient contact hours with a schedule of 4.5-5 day workweek. This position may include some type of call.

Qualifications:  

Education:  Equivalent to a college degree and professional certificate or a graduate degree. ARNP or PA licensed.

Experience:  Two to three years of experience as a specialized Cardiology provider preferred.

Physical Aspects:

Job Description

The Host is also responsible for greeting guests and arranging for prompt seating. The Host is responsible for ensuring that guests feel welcome and comfortable in accordance with Boyd Gaming customer service standards.

  • Responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other team members while providing superior guest service. Has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with guests.
  • Greets guests in a friendly, courteous manner and arranges for seating; monitors room atmosphere.
  • Provides information on all aspects of Boyd Gaming services and facilities to guests.
  • In front-of-house areas, greets guests in a friendly, courteous manner and answers inquiries before completing sales transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Answers telephones and handles guest inquiries in person or by telephone.
  • Assists with overall room functions by performing duties that include cleaning and resetting tables, menus, folding napkins and handing out customer comment cards as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.
  • This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends on customer volume.
