PRIMARY PURPOSE:  To negotiate, facilitate and monitor successful return-to-work of claimants within appropriate disability duration guidelines and to assist case management staff with client competence decisions for individual positions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determines objective, quantifiable, medically supported work restrictions for assigned claims.
  • Facilitates return-to-work (RTW) and accommodation efforts through negotiation with client, treatment provider and claimant; completes all accommodation/RTW related jurisdictional or client directed documentation, notification, or reporting; and documents client contact in claim notes as per Sedgwick CMS standards.
  • Adheres to medical and legal regulations and accreditation standards in written communication.
  • Contacts employers to determine specific information regarding employment area (i.e. training/education needed, physical demands, wages and benefits, availability, etc.); ascertains the specific physical tolerances, vocational skills and essential job functions needed for specific employment positions as requested by referral sources or employers; and  recommends necessary adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Maintains regular contact with clients following placement as per program guidelines, contacts involved individuals regarding progress on each case and makes suggestions as needed for changing plans.
  • Works closely with team members to ensure smooth transition from medical case management into job placement.
  • Performs other tasks related to accommodation/RTW evaluation and work adjustment as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

HS Diploma/GED required.  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience
Three (3) years of related experience including one (1) year of return-to-work or job accommodation experience or three (3) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

We are looking to hire a Surgical Technician, CST.

The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room for the surgical procedure including the instruments, equipment, and supplies. They must maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure. Will scrub more general cases which may include general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics.  May also be 2nd, 3rd or 4th scrub in all surgical specialties.  Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, values, and cultural beliefs of MercyOne.

General Requirements:

The Lead Retail Pharmacist accepts the responsibility and accountability for the accurate control of and appropriate dispensing of all prescription and non-prescription medications, as required by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Ensures appropriate counseling of patients regarding their medications Supervises the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy Leads colleagues in standards of quality of care, inventory control, and intra and interdepartmental communications.

SCOPE OF SERVICE/CUSTOMER:  

Under the general direction of the Retail Pharmacy Supervisor, plans, organizes and manages retail pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other support personnel Serves as a leadership resource for those working in the retail pharmacy. Assumes a proactive role in improving quality.   
 
Patients served range in age from newborns to geriatrics Customers include departmental employees, peers, physicians and their office staff, vendors, patients, families, visitors, etc. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs duties with flexibility, adapting to changing schedules and needs of the customers, prioritizing workload accordingly 

Manages schedule for pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel at site of responsibility. 

Manages timecards and approves payroll for pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel at site of responsibility. 

Counsels’ patients receiving prescription medications, non-prescription medications, devices and supplies, as appropriate while protecting their health and drug information. 

Provides information to medical staff concerning all aspects of clinical pharmaceutical  

information pertaining to the patients care and well-being, keeping in mind the 

confidential nature of all such information and communication.  

Monitors patient medication therapy for pharmaceutical care parameters and documents (as  

 required) the appropriate findings, recommendations, interventions and outcomes.    

Coaches and maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitude, and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, visitors, customers and co-workers.   

Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to pharmaceutical services 

Shares in the “on-call” and weekend rotation responsibilities.  

Coordinates colleague training, development, and education in area of responsibility for all colleagues, pharmacy residents, students and interns. 

Completes colleague evaluations for area of responsibility annually. 

Recruits, screens, and participates in the interview and selection of new pharmacy colleagues. 

Assists with coordinating student and resident rotations and activities. 

Attends meetings and participates in committees as appropriate. 

Actively leads training of new colleagues. 

Ensures all state and federal laws surrounding the appropriate security and control of and dispensing of medications are followed in area of responsibility. 

Responsible for inventory maintenance, ensuring appropriate inventory levels, ordering, and security of inventory including CII perpetual inventory logs and yearly inventory counts. 

Actively leads and participates in quality and problem-solving activities with other pharmacy staff and other hospital departments. 

Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations. 

Provides competent patient care to the above-indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. 

Takes an active role in enhancing ability to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related growth and development and participates in medical center and/or departmental education programs. 

Supports and abides by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment.  

Performs other responsibilities as requested by Retail Pharmacy Supervisor or Pharmacy Director.

Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter. 

Licensure:  

Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Iowa in good standing or eligible for registration.
